I have started to sneak in yoga practise between my regular work-outs at the gym. It has been going on for a month and it’s one of the best things I’ve done for myself lately. I feel more relaxed, my joints are getting a bit more flexible, and I keep getting better and better at the poses. It kinda took my by surprise how hard yoga actually is, but it’s amazing.
Mikkel and I like to treat ourselves with a protein shake after a hard workout. This hemp and chocolate shake has been one of our favourites lately. Hemp protein is a plant-based protein with a lovely nutty taste that goes well with chocolate. It’s derived from the Cannabis plant, but it’s not to be confused with it’s hallucinogenic counterpart. Instead it’s an amazing protein containing all essential amino acids, making it a complete protein. Plus, it’s rich in healthy omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, and fibres; great for rebuilding your body after a work-out.
Hemp & Chocolate Power Shake
(Makes 1 serving)
1 cup of almond milk (or another plant milk of your choice)
Juice of 1 orange (optional)
2 medjool dates, pitted
1 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp hemp protein powder
A few ice cubes (optional)
Bee pollen for topping
Toss all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Top with bee pollen, drink, and feel awesome.
